Rajasthan is India’s most dramatic state — and this eight-day itinerary covers it properly. You’ll move through Jaipur’s pink sandstone forts, Jodhpur’s blue city lanes, the golden dunes of Jaisalmer, and the lakes of Udaipur, staying in heritage or premium hotels throughout. The journey includes a cultural evening with folk music and a camel safari across the Sam Sand Dunes — the kind of experiences that define the real Rajasthan. Built for couples, families, and solo travellers who want both history and adventure.
Day 1 — Arrival in Jaipur (Pink City) Pickup from airport or railway station and transfer to your hotel. Evening visit to City Palace’s outer courts and Hawa Mahal (façade), followed by a walk through the local market. Welcome dinner.
Day 2 — Jaipur Sightseeing A full day in Jaipur: Amber Fort (one of India’s most impressive Rajput forts), the mirror-mosaic palace inside, Jal Mahal on the lake, and a sunset view from Nahargarh Fort. Cultural folk evening arranged.
Day 3 — Jaipur to Jodhpur (330 km) Drive across Rajasthan to Jodhpur, the Blue City. En route, pass through rural Rajasthan and traditional villages. Evening check-in at your heritage hotel.
Day 4 — Jodhpur Exploration Mehrangarh Fort — one of India’s grandest, still dominating the city skyline. Visit Jaswant Thada, the marble cenotaph, and drive past the exterior of Umaid Bhawan Palace. Afternoon in Clock Tower Market.
Day 5 — Jodhpur to Jaisalmer (300 km) Drive to Jaisalmer, the Golden City. Afternoon at leisure to explore this remarkable sandstone citadel town.
Day 6 — Jaisalmer: Dunes, Camels & Culture Morning at Jaisalmer Fort and Patwon Ki Haveli. Afternoon drive to Sam Sand Dunes for a sunset camel safari, followed by a cultural show with folk music and dinner under the desert sky.
Day 7 — Udaipur: City of Lakes Drive or fly to Udaipur. Boat ride on Lake Pichola with views of the Lake Palace, visit to City Palace, Fateh Sagar Lake, and Saheliyon Ki Bari garden. A more romantic, leisurely pace after the desert.
Day 8 — Departure Breakfast at the hotel, optional morning shopping, and departure transfer from Udaipur airport or station.
Yes — the itinerary works well for families. Children love Amber Fort and the camel safari. Let us know ages and we'll suggest any adjustments needed.
October to March is ideal — pleasant days and cool nights. April to June is extremely hot and not recommended. July–September brings some rain. We'd advise booking for the October–February window.
