While most newlyweds head to Kashmir or Goa, the couples who choose Meghalaya discover something quietly extraordinary — cloud-wrapped hills, rivers so clear they look artificial, living bridges grown over centuries, and a pace that feels genuinely unhurried. This luxury honeymoon itinerary adds romance to each of these natural wonders: private sightseeing, a candlelight dinner, flower-decorated rooms, and photoshoot stops chosen for beauty. For couples who want something personal and memorable rather than expected.
Day 1 — Arrival in Shillong: Private pickup from Guwahati Airport. Drive to Shillong. Luxury hotel check-in, welcome drink, and flower bed decoration in your room. Romantic dinner at the hotel or a handpicked restaurant nearby.
Day 2 — Shillong Romance Tour: Shillong Peak for views, Ward’s Lake for a quiet boat ride together, Elephant Falls, and Shillong’s characterful cafes. Photography stops at the city’s most picturesque corners.
Day 3 — Cherrapunji: Waterfalls & Views: Drive through misty curves to Cherrapunji. Nohkalikai Falls — India’s tallest plunge waterfall — followed by Seven Sisters Falls viewpoint, Mawsmai Cave, and Eco Park. Back by evening.
Day 4 — Living Root Bridge Adventure: Trek down together to the Double Decker Living Root Bridge — a natural wonder and a genuinely special shared experience. Photography at the bridge and the stream below.
Day 5 — Dawki: The Glass River: Private boating on the Umngot River — extraordinarily clear water, just the two of you. Indo-Bangladesh border viewpoint. Afternoon at leisure.
Day 6 — Mawlynnong & Candlelight Dinner: Morning at Asia’s cleanest village — calm, beautiful, photogenic. Sky Walk. Return to Shillong for your special candlelight dinner, the romantic highlight of the trip.
Day 7 — Departure: Breakfast, check-out, and transfer to Guwahati Airport or Railway Station.
Completely different. Meghalaya offers misty hill town charm, jungle trekking, crystal rivers, and Northeast India's distinctive culture — quieter and more intimate than the popular honeymoon destinations. Couples who choose it tend to love that it feels like a discovery.
It's a memorable experience — but involves roughly 3,500 steps. Go at your own pace. Comfortable footwear is essential. We recommend it as a shared adventure rather than a rushed tick-box.
Rose petals on the bed, a welcome cake, and a welcome drink. We co-ordinate with the hotel so everything is ready on arrival.

October to April is ideal — clear skies, manageable temperatures, and the best conditions for Dawki's glass river effect. Monsoon (June–September) is dramatic and green, but the river is murkier.
